about

José Lozano is a poet, author, and painter whose work recalls childhood memories, muses on nature and the creative act, and charts the universal journey of self-discovery. Growing up in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, his childhood interest in writing and painting was sparked by the works of Ruben Dario, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, David Siqueiros, and Diego Riviera.

José’s immigrant journey to the United States in the 1980s and rediscovery of his artistic self through Saddleback Visual Arts helped him craft his language and find his colors. Now an active writer and artist, Jose’s creative dreams are flourishing. He is regularly hosted for live painting community events, does inspirational speeches for public engagements, and presents his poetry at literary art venues.
